Project overview
This case documents a stainless steel sphere fountain developed for an outdoor water-feature environment where reflection, motion, and finish quality all shaped the final effect.
Client and space scenario
The project was suited to landscape, hospitality, and entry environments where a water element needed a sculptural centerpiece rather than a purely technical fountain component.
Design brief and project requirement
The brief called for a clear spherical form with a mirror finish that would remain visually strong even when partially covered by flowing water.
Material and finish decision
Stainless steel was selected for its durability and suitability for a high-polish finish. Mirror polishing was important because the project depended on the contrast between the clean metal surface and the changing water layer over it.
Fabrication challenge
With reflective work, minor distortion or uneven polishing becomes more visible. The challenge was therefore to keep the sphere visually clean and maintain finish continuity before the fountain entered service.
Packing and delivery handling
Protected packing was needed to avoid scratches during transport and unloading, especially because polished spherical surfaces show damage quickly once they are placed in a visible public or hospitality setting.
Final result
The finished fountain feature delivered a stronger nighttime and daytime presence than a conventional water element, giving the site a sculptural focal point with controlled reflective performance.
